Romans 10:1-4;13 NKJV

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.

2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.

3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

[13] For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved

Try Jesus!!! Make the Call

When call you 911 it often an emergency, moment of distress, something that we are equipped to handle without help.

So we make the call. In Romans Paul outlines why we need salvation: chapter 3:23: chapter 3:23 All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  The method by which we are saves 5:8 Romans

[8] But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

The consequences of rejecting God offer of salvation and the reward of accepting  salvation  6:23 Romans 6:23 NKJV

[23] For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In Romans 10: Paul begins with the plea, His hearts desire and prayer for Israel is that they be saved. Paul wanted his fellow Israelites to know what he knows. I want them to be saved. We who have accepted salvation ought to desire salvation for others, family, friends and loved ones. What a great world if everyone were truly saved.

1.They had a zeal for God----they were eager to please God, they were religious.

 2. But not according to knowledge ----- they didn’t really know God. Had no true knowledge of God. They were like so many people, they know of God, they believed there is God, but they haven’t committed nor have they submitted to God.

3.Since they didn’t really know God, they established their own righteousness.  They were trying to please God in their own, They were trying to get to heaven by keeping the law,  it is not that they weren’t sincere, but we can sincere and mean well but we can be sincerely wrong. But try as we might, we cannot wash away our sins, or live such a good life as to commend ourselves to God.

4. Christ is the end of the law; Paul wanted them to move from religion to relationship, He let them know that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Christ came not to destroy  the law, but that through Him the law might be fulfilled.

Therefore, we must accept Christ as our savior and that our righteousness is by faith, that faith comes from hearing and accepting the Gospel, which causes us to confess the Lord Jesus and bouelieve in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead. In doing so we are saved.

He gives the blessed assurance that whoever call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.  To call on the Lord means to call upon Him, to invite Him into your life. Paul them back then make the call, you been trying to do it on your own, now try Jesus, stop looking to the right Church building, the right Choir, the right devotional service, make the call, call call Him get to know Jesus.  When we call you receive salvation and a real relationship. We can sing and praise anywhere at anytime.
