About Us

The Galilee Missionary Baptist Church was organized in the year of 1889 by the late Rev. T. M. Allen, Rev. Rainwaters, Deacon Andy Thorton and others. At that time, the church was located about one mile below the Marietta Campground. After some 15 or 20 years, the church moved to their second facility. That building was built in the early 1920's. In our first 100 years as Galilee Baptist Church, we have experienced many changes, but through our faith in God and His ability to sustain us, we move forward.

Today, under the capable leadership of Rev. Donald B. Crampton, Galilee Missionary Baptist Church will continue to grow and follow God's Word.

HEBREWS 4:14-16

14“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we  are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

TAKE IT TO JESUS

Recently I have talked to someone who shared theses words, my life is a mess. I asked where are you with God. It is good to seek help through others yet we must also understand that God isH our true help.

The theme of Hebrews is Jesus is greater: He is greater than the Law and the Prophets for in Him is all the law fulfilled, He is greater than the Angels, for the Angels worship Him and He sits at the right hand of the Father,  He is greater than the priest for He is the great High Priest. He is the savior of the world.

In chapter 4 the writer assures those who are save will enter into the rest of God, when we hear the Gospel preached we are invited to enter into the rest that will come to us one day. After the work is done the rest begins.  Our final resting place will be when we are in the present of the lord. we can rest for we can have peace with surpasses all understanding.

Yet while we are here in this world filled with trials and turmoil, with sicknesses and pains, we are not alone. We can find rest even in the midst of the storms of life.

It may sound simple all but we can take it to Jesus, all of our troubles

Why take it to Jesus:

JESUS INTERCEDES FOR US:

14“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, The earthly  priest were to make intercession sins of the people,but if the earthly priest were found unworthy they their sacrifices would not be accepted by God.  Christ who is without sin is the Great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, He is God and the Son of God, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.  We can make our confession and our confession is not in vain. He is the one who can forgive all our sins.

JESUS IS THE COMPASSIONATE TOWARD US:

15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses,---Jesus understands and knows what we go through, Jesus wept at Lazarus' grave when he saw the sadness of sorrow of those who loved Lazarus, Jesus felt hunger, poverty, he w physical pain when being beaten, and when he was tempted by Satan for 40 days in the wilderness, for  but was in all points tempted as we  are, yet without sin. 

JESUS IS WILL HEAR US AND HELP US:

16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

COME BOLDLY TO THE THRONE OF GRACE---We are able to come to Christ without fear, we come in the form of pray, we who know and believe can come Him wherever we need to come. Boldly, no reservations need. Take it to Jesus, come whenever, wherever, however,, come with with our burdens. We can just call on Him. Ask what we will according to Him will and it will be given. If we know him we can come to Him.
